Lucy x Darian

WET WINGS
Amazed at incredibly talented friends.
Lucy and Darian are Wet Wings - they used to live with us, and they make beautiful music which you can listen to here...

If I live forever, ill be free of time

PAMELA LOVE
I love Pamela Loves style, her effortless New York Indo-bohemian cool, making amazing jewellary with natural and mythical materials... Native American x Mexican desert x animal remnants, her work nostalgically reminds me of Summer in Vermont and New York, finding spectacularly  beautiful finds in antique stores, drinking iced tea through Central Park looking down at my new sparkling pieces of glitter.  Starting a jewellary making workshop, just got a new tattoo, moving to the sunshine, Im finding her very inspiring at the moment. Here is a great interview with her that I recommend... http://stylelikeu.com/closets/pamela-love/

I am, overexposed

Mark Borthwick takes very cool photos. They have been described as providing otherworldly light and of capturing the memories that I never myself captured clearly. He is based in New York City and these photographs are taken from a collection titled, Not in Fashion. Im glad to know that my whimsical journey through youth hood was captured in dreamlike sequences such as these.

A collection of things...

I think most items look better in collections - like shoes and hat boxes and suitcases. I took these photos at the Shelburne museum in Vermont. Love the old stuff.

Castles

Studio Numen Castle rings by Margot di Cono

These are super swell, just like a little world in the palm of your hand (metaphorically, obviously they would be on your finger)

Revolutionary

NICOLAS GHESQUIERE FOR BALENCIAGA, FALL 2007 RTW

This is one of my favourite Balenciaga collections - I like the ever changing silhouettes and the tribal influences, the juxtaposition of feminine and masculine (draping silk dresses with super tailored blazers), the warpaint feature, accents of fur and tassels and clashing patterns and long hair tucked into scarves. Oh, and the staple khaki coat showcased 4 years ago!

Cristobal Balenciaga was a couturier who revolutionised many fashion styles in the 1950s-1960s. His style was simple, chic and minimalist. He is also credited with bringing into fashion the likes of the balloon dress, the sack dress and the kimono-sleeve coat, ingenious.

Leggy

GUY BOURDIN
Bourdin was an amazing photographer - kind of like the original Terry Richardson, in the 1970s when everyone was into sex and discos and sheer fabrics and coloured make-up. His images (must notably the cropped legs) reminds me a lot of the estranged atmosphere from Twin Peaks and also of the Wizard of Oz (when the house falls on the witch)
