The Lost Girls

More lovely work from Richard Saja from Historically Inaccurate
The Lost Girls, 2007, Prints on heavy weight canvas, embroidered with rayon floss
This was one of my immediate favourites at the Shelburn musuem in Vermont.. the little faces had so much expression, mostly of content, and I do love the hybrid animal / human theme. I also like the idea of imagining them conversing to one another. And I especially like the 5th image.. I think it captures the idea of open space and vagueness appropriately.. or perhaps because the image depicts the two creatures working together ... mustering up a plan of sorts
